What I Want from the GTA 6 Soundtrack: Go Big or Go Home, Rockstar

The Grand Theft Auto series has always been known for its incredible attention to detail, and one of the most beloved aspects of that has been the music—specifically, the in-game radio stations. From the moment you steal a car and flip on the radio, you're immersed in a curated soundscape that helps define the tone of the game’s world. Whether it was the synth-heavy tracks of Vice City, the West Coast rap and grunge of San Andreas, or the wide mix of styles in GTA V, the soundtrack has always played a major role in making each installment feel grounded, unique, and alive.

With GTA 6 on the horizon and expectations sky-high, I hope Rockstar takes things even further. I don’t just want another solid selection of songs—I want GTA 6 to have the biggest, most diverse soundtrack in the history of the franchise. I want more genres than ever before. I want every radio station to feel like a fully realized musical world, with distinct vibes, personalities, and tastes. Pop, hip-hop, hard rock, alt rock, metal, EDM, country, Latin, jazz, funk, reggae, indie, folk—I want it all. The sheer scale of next-gen hardware should give Rockstar the space to go wild with the music, and they absolutely should.

More than that, I want a mix of artists: legendary classics, fresh new acts, and the ones that personally matter to me. I’m talking about artists and bands like Eminem, Seether, Blue October, Starset, Keane, Filter, Daughtry, Florida Georgia Line, and others that bring both energy and emotion to the table. Music is subjective, sure, but a great soundtrack doesn’t have to cater to everyone at once—it just has to be broad, well-curated, and crafted with intention.

The level of realism in GTA 6 is supposed to be on another level. So let the soundtrack reflect that. Make the radio feel like something you'd actually hear flipping through stations in the real world. Let there be obscure tracks and hits alike. Let there be deep cuts and anthems. The more variety, the more immersive the game becomes—and the more unforgettable the experience will be.

At the end of the day, GTA 6 has the potential to raise the bar across every aspect of gaming, and the music should be no exception. The soundtrack can and should be one of its defining features, just like in past titles—but even bigger, bolder, and better.
